How It Works

From intake to wipe report, the process stays transparent.

DriveWipers is built around careful intake, clear documentation, and honest outcomes when a drive can or cannot be processed.

1. Request the service

Start by describing what you have, how many devices or drives are involved, and whether you would rather arrange a local drop-off or ask about the mail-in option.

2. Drop off or ship the item

Local residents can arrange an in-person handoff. For eligible storage devices, mail-in processing can be a practical option when distance or timing matters.

3. The item is documented

Before wiping begins, the device or drive is photographed and logged with identifying details such as type, condition, request notes, and serial number when available.

4. The drive is wiped

The storage media is connected to a dedicated wiping station running ShredOS and erased drive by drive when the drive is accessible and workable.

5. You receive emailed proof

After processing, DriveWipers emails a PDF certificate of destruction showing the item details, processing date, result, and supporting notes.

6. The device is handled responsibly

The wiped drive stays with DriveWipers and is handled responsibly from there — recycling or parts processing — with separate follow-up if the storage could not be wiped.

If the drive cannot be wiped

The process still stays documented.

Some devices are locked, encrypted, physically damaged, or otherwise inaccessible. When that happens, DriveWipers does not guess or overpromise. The issue is logged and the available options are explained clearly.
